Big Business is Not The Forgotten Taxpayer’s Friend: Ethanol Subsidies Dept Energy

Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner has been a reliable critic of debilitating effects of Ethanol Subsidies in misdirecting resources toward government sponsored enterprises to the detriment of useful productivity that raises standard of living of all. Using the resources of all to benefit a government favored few is an economic strategy of Statists. Individual Liberty means determining how you will spend the money you earn and how you allocate your time and efforts, not what Government Bureaucrats determine for you. Ethanol subsidies siphon $6 billion dollars from productive taxpayers every year.

Energy Department gives $105 million subsidy to ethanol plant and they call it “Project Liberty,”  Tim Carney 7/8/2011

“POET, the politically connected ethanol giant, has just pocketed a $105 million Department of Energy loan guarantee for an ethanol plant in Iowa. If this plant — the first to turn corn waste into fuel — fails, U.S. taxpayers foot the bill.”
